Holley Mackey is the CEO of Heroes United Golf Scramble League (HUGSL), a non-profit golf league that unites disabled veterans and first-responders through golf competition, camaraderie, and mental performance support. Holley has been instrumental in starting and promoting the League throughout the Orlando area, including the Lake Nona and Lake Baldwin VA Adaptive Sports programs, chairing volunteer endeavors at the LPGA Tournament of Champions, and attending various veteran and community events. With master’s degrees in Performance Psychology and Education, she helps the players to freely express their emotions and thoughts and, in the natural setting of a golf competition, helps them to create a path towards further developing mental wellness.
Holley is also an active member of the Lake Nona Chamber of Commerce and community member. She has served on the Lake Nona Chamber Swing committee where they raised over $5000 for the local Ronald McDonald House, and she will Co-Chair the event in November 2022. Holley is also a full-time health coach with a wellness app using cognitive behavior skills to bring forth overall mental and physical wellness. She has experience as a performance coach working with high school athletes and professionals building the mental skills to improve performance through behavior change.
Prior to this, some of Holley’s other accomplishments include serving as a teacher ranging from kindergarten to college level, working in the mental health field, numerous volunteer endeavors, living abroad for over four years, and raising four wonderful children with her husband Robert Mackey. Holley is passionate about giving back to our veterans and first-responders! It’s her personal mission to reduce the 22 veteran suicides a day statistic by creating a safe place for people to come together through shared experiences, unite in friendship, and create long-lasting bonds…and play a little golf, too!
